LinuxTLE7.0.1 cannot access internet via a WindowsXP gateway

I'm a new user of Mozilla and Linux. I just finished installing a Thai version of Linux named LinuxTLE which is a derivative of Fedora Linux on my notebook (ECS, GREEN733, 2.2 GHz Celeron, 256 Mb RAM and 40Gb HD). Mozilla Firefox was bundled with the set and installed concurrently. The machine was originally run by WindowsXP and Linux system was installed on an empty part of the HD of about 11 Gb. The machine is a member of a network segment of two computers. An 'A' machine has two network cards: one links to the internet via another network segment and the other link to my computer. Normally I can access the internet from my machine through 'A' which has XP run with IIS. However, I could not do what I usually did with XP and IE. I checked the links between my machine and 'A' including 'A's gateway with PING: they were OK. The network neighborhood of the two machines were OK also. Here are network parameters of both machines: my notebook: ip: 192.168.1.8 subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 default gateway: 192.168.1.70 workgroup: WNET 'A' s Ethernet: ip: 192.168.1.70 subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 default gateway: nil workgroup: WNET 'A' s Wireless Network Adapter: ip: 192.168.0.<Assigned by DHCP> subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 (Assigned by DHCP but always fixed) default gateway: 192.168.0.253 (Assigned by DHCP but always fixed) workgroup: NA I put 192.168.1.70 in an HTTP box of Manual Proxy settings of Mozilla' Edit / Preferences which was the only way to see the word "Connecting to site ..." on the screen, out of this timeout error only. Please suggest. Yours Sincerely, Wijit Anusasananan
